It is a hermetic and pressurizable device, rigid or flexible, of diverse materials, variable dimensions and shape, capable of maintaining a pressure several times higher than the atmospheric allowing conditions of habitability and comfort to be occupied by healthy or sick people. Its purpose is to apply treatments with pressurized air and / or with medicinal oxygen at a pressure higher than atmospheric, for teaching, research, or therapeutic purposes for diseases or accidents, including dysbaric disorders of divers and personnel using decompression chambers with compressed air or other gases. The European standard UNE-EN14931 defines hyperbaric chambers as sanitary ware subject to a specific EC mark, which corresponds to it as a pressure vessel.
