Duration: 150 teaching hours, 110 theoretical and 40 practices, you can only miss 10% in the
theoretical part.
Time: 23 days to 7 hours daily
Attributions:
Pattern of merchant ships of gross tonnage not exceeding 100 GT carrying out navigations
that do not travel more than 3 miles from the port and carry a maximum of 150 passengers.
You can simultaneously perform the functions of boss and machine manager, provided that the
ship has the right automatisms and the power does not exceed 375 KW in a single
engine, or double in two or more engines.
The holders of the Professional Title of Port Employer may exercise as employer in
fishing vessels, not exceeding 12 meters in length and not more than 3 miles away from a
port or refuge area, provided they prove a shipment of at least 12 months as
sailor in the bridge section of fishing vessels after obtaining the
professional title of port employer, and are registered in the Registry of Professionals
of the Fishing Sector. They may simultaneously exercise command of the vessel and the service
of machines, as long as the characteristics of the boat and the power allow
engine does not exceed 100 kW.
Requirements:
1. Having reached 20 years of age.
2. Have the Certificate of Specialization in Basic Safety Training
Maritime
3. Pass the theoretical course and practical tests
4. Have made a period of embarkation in Spanish civilian vessels of tonnage
gross exceeding 5 GT and power exceeding 100 KW, not less than 12 months,
having to prove at least 6 months in the bridge service and 6 months in
machine service
5. Having passed the medical examination of maritime shipping made by
the Social Institute of the Navy at the time of the application for the title

Simulate English language communication
Perform breakdown repair tests, simulated on the engines, system
government electrical system
Perform basic equipment check tests before going out to sea: propeller,
safety equipment, batteries
